SHARING SPANISH CUISINE

Since the host families were being so kind and sharing pieces of their culture and typical dishes with us, I decided to make two iconic Spanish dishes for them to try! Afterall, cooking brings people together, and of course gives you a fantastic food to enjoy in the end.

✩Basque burnt cheesecake

One of my favourite spanish desserts and one that I've personally mastered is the Basque burnt cheesecake. One thing about me is that I love all cheesecakes, and it being so easy to make yet so delicious is astonishing to me!

It's slightly different than the typical German cheesecake, since that version is usually more white and as seen in the picture, the Basque version is slightly toasted on the top.

✩Potato omelette or "tortilla de patata"

You can never go wrong with the spanish potato omelette it's simply delicious and even though we had some trouble cooking it (Andrea, one of the other people that came from Spain cooked it with me), it ended up pretty tasting pretty good!
