ALTE PINAKOTHEK

After searching for some museums and places to see art around Munich, my friend Alba and me decided to go to the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. It is a popular museum that contains a large collection of drawings and sculptures since the medieval times up to the begining of the XIX century.

✩Entry and explications

Luckily, for us the entry to the museum was completely free since we aren't over 18. We left our things in the lockers area and walked into the entrance hall. There were multiple groups waiting to have tours around the museum, I imagine they were students. We didn't have a tour, but for each room there were explications and some context about the author and the era in the web of the museum

✩Paintings and favourites

Once we actually entered the exposition rooms, we were overwhelmed by the aoumt of art and paintings. I had never visited a museum so big and I believe we spent over two hours walking through the rooms and appreciating the beauty of the pieces. I personally love art and at some points even felt like crying at the emotion, so I can say this visit was one of my favourite places to see over the 3 months.

Now, some of my favourite paintings and things I saw.

Morning after the storm
Medieval Town By Water
Boy Ridding his Dog of Fleas
Der glükliche Krieger/
The Happy Warrior

The Fall of the Dammed

The Pie Eating Bartolome
Landscape with Roman Temple ruins

The Joys of Country Life
